DoCRCO is a philanthropic grassroots community of dads driven by the desire to serve, support and uplift the community we love. Through adult and life skills classes, grassroots initiatives like crisis and disaster response, sobriety and mental health programs or our annual benevolence-driven “Adopt A Family” initiative, along with participation in many community events like the Starlighting, Trunk or Treat and Douglas County Fair parade, we seek to be agents for positive change in every way we can.
Founded in 2019, Dads of Castle Rock enjoyed humble beginnings as somewhat of a tongue-in-cheek joke on Facebook, consisting of a group of area dads. Authentic to the stereotypical dad form, there were terrible jokes, off-color humor and general disorganized and nonsensical shenanigans abound. However, what became apparent almost immediately was the need and desire for positivity and support, both within our group of dads as well as directed towards the community. Within an extremely short period of time, Dads of Castle Rock Community Outreach was born, with the mission being to lean on each other to enact real and measurable change within Castle Rock.
Our core values boil down simply to two things:
- Fostering a group of support and positivity, where dads can grow, network, be vulnerable and build each other up, so we can be better stewards of ourselves and our families, thereby allowing us to be better for our community.
- Leveraging the power our collective skills, community spirit and desire to serve to continue to make an impact in our close-knit community of Castle Rock.
